What experience do you have as a professional photographer?

Stillview was established in 1980 and since then we have carried out professional photography projects for a wide variety and number of clients including many household names such as BT, Alstons Furniture, Securicor, Nidera and many more.

What sort of brief do you require?

It is important for us to get as much information as possible about what you need and where the final images will be used prior to us taking on a professional photography project. While some clients come to us with a very detailed brief, others have just a rough idea and are looking for creative guidance from a professional photographer. We can work with either situation and will work with you to discuss your requirements and approaches to the work before arranging a shoot.

If our brief doesn’t quite match the list above, can you still help?

Yes – the list above just gives an overview of the main categories of professional photography that we do. We welcome clients with more unusual requirements – our large state of the art studio and digital imaging suite means that we can create any image that you require.

How long do professional photography shoots usually take?

This varies greatly depending on the complexity of the shot to be taken and the number of images required. The shortest time would be around an hour for a simple table top shot requiring no special background or room set and little or no image manipulation. Construction of room sets, multiple products and complex digital manipulation will all add to the time required.

If we prefer a professional photographer to visit our premises can that be arranged?

Yes. For some types of work this is a far more efficient way of working (e.g. business portraits of large numbers of people) and is sometimes the only way to achieve a product shot (e.g. very large vehicles or equipment).

We need a professional photographer who can be flexible and work to a tight schedule – can you do this?

Yes – that is our normal way of working. All our work is for commercial clients so we are well used to fitting in with client timescales.

Where can we see examples of your work?

Click at the bottom right of the screen to view examples from our portfolio.

Do you work mostly with natural shots or by creating images digitally?

We have full capability to provide any combination of natural shooting and digital manipulation to achieve the required result. We take natural shots wherever possible to achieve natural lighting, shadows, reflections and so on, as well as being a faster and more efficient approach in the long run. However we also have state of the art digital manipulation capability to provide effects that cannot be achieved otherwise, from minor retouching right through to complete image creation.

Do you work mostly on location or in the studio?

Either or both as required by the brief. Overall our work is about a 50:50 split between studio and location work.

Where can you travel to for location work?

The majority of our location work is within the UK, and especially East Anglia and the South East. But we can travel worldwide as required.

You are based in Suffolk – are you easy to find?

Yes, very easy. We are located just off the A14 in Ipswich which connects Felixstowe, Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge, and close to the A12 interchange which connects to Colchester, London and Norwich. Ipswich is also on the main line railway from London Liverpool Street running through Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk, and is about an hour from Stansted airport which is off the M11 running through Cambridgeshire.

How is the work charged?

Our quotes for work are usually based on an hourly, half day, or daily rate according to how long we expect the job to take. Alternatively we agree an overall fee for the job. We charge a minimum 1 and a half hours per any location. If the job takes longer than anticipated then an additional hourly or daily rate will be charged as appropriate. In addition, expenses are charged for location shoots to cover mileage, food and accommodation costs.

What are your payment arrangements?

Clients who have an account with us have a 30 day credit limit. Otherwise payment is due on completion.

Can clients or other members of our project team attend shoots?

Yes, client attendance is welcomed. This can often make the shoot more efficient if the client is able to approve shots on the spot. And we have ample free car parking for multiple people to attend as required.
